Raphael Dwamena: Zurich attacker joins Brighton and Holve Albion

Raphael Dwamena’s FC Zurich has agreed a deal to see the Ghanaian attacker move to Premier League side Brighton and Holve Albion from Switzerland’s Super Lig side FC Zurich.
Dwamena joined Zurich from Austria’s Este Liga side, Austria Lustenau, after a successful 2016-17 season which the Ghanaian scored 18 goals.
The 21-year-old, who had been rated at around £8million, although the fee was not disclosed by the Premier League club in confirmation of the deal on Monday evening, moves on after only seven months in Switzerland, having joined Zurich from Red Bull Salzburg in January.
A statement read: “Brighton & Hove Albion can confirm that the club has reached agreement with FC Zurich for the permanent transfer of Ghanaian international, Raphael Dwamena, subject to work permit and international clearance.
“The 21-year-old striker has also agreed personal terms with the club and is now awaiting clearance to travel to the UK for his medical.”
Dwamena is expected in England tonight to complete his medicals as he awaits working permit to feature for the newly promoted side.
Raphael Dwamena scored on his national team debut when the Black Stars of Ghana played Ethiopia in the qualifiers of the AFCON 2019.
