Napo Accuses Mahama Gov’t For Failing The Education Sector, Says Nana Addo Is Far Better
The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, says former President John Mahama and his government failed the education sector.
He stated that Nana Addo led government has done far better that the previous government.
He stated this during a special grant by the Speaker of Parliament given to Ministers to speak about their sector.
He added that some policies made by the Mahama government negatively affected the progress of the sector and such policies were the cancellation of teachers and students allowance.
After his statement granted by Speaker, he added his voice again with the media and argued that the previous government failed to invest adequately the sector unlike the current government doing the most in free SHS.
Napo noted that the success of the biggest social intervention policy, free SHS is not base on the performance in WASSCE but the fact that would’ve been denied because of monetary issues are now in school.
He however disclosed that the NDC administration never produced textbooks for students in their eight years administration.
