Sek-Tak: Sanitation Will Be My Immediate Focus If I get the Nod – Mayor Nominee

Sekondi Takoradi’s Mayor Nominee, Abdul Mumin Issa has assured the metropolis of an aggressive strategy towards improving sanitation in the Metropolis to ensure a better environment.

According to him, the current state of sanitation in the metropolis is an eye saw which demands an immediate attention.

He promised to restore the old glory of sekondi Takoradi as a beautiful and preferred destination when he spoke with Kwame offei on Adzekye Mu Nsem on Spice Fm 91.9.

“Sekondi Takoradi used to be a beautiful and preferred destination for many people in the country but the current state of our sanitation is an eye saw. This is going to be my major focus  when the assembly members give me the   Nod come Friday. Within the shortest possible time all efforts will be geared towards improving the sanitation situation in Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis to ensure a clean society. My personal cleaning company which currently employs 90 people, cleaning is part and parcels of me and I sure the people of Sekondi Takoradi that sanitation will be my priority when I get the Nod .

He shared his childhood experience of a flooding that hit the metropolis in the 50s and how it affected him

 “I was born at Bakado, At age 6 somewhere in 1958/1959, there was a heavy flood that affected Ketan, Kojokrom catchment area which collapse of several structures. My mother relocated me to Asikafo Ambantem where I stared my primary education, I continued to Saint Mary’s boys after which I travelled   abroad and stayed there for about 18years. I later came home to establish my own business which currently employs about 90 workers.

Assembly members in the Sekondi Takoradi Metroplotan Assembly on Friday are expected to participate in the voting process that will give the mayor nominee the Nod or not.

Abdul Mumin Issah would have to obtain a two-thirds majority of the votes of the assembly members to be confirmed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly.
