VENDORS OF PUBLIC COMMUNITY STAND PIPES IN SEKONDI CAUTIONED OVER SELLING OF WATER-GHANA WATER COMPANY

The Publc Relation Officer of Ghana water company, Nana Yaw Bannie has cautioned Vendors of their public Community stand pipes to avoid selling of water to the public as part of government directive to provide free water for citizens in the months of April , May and June.

Explaining the significance of such move on Adekyemu Mu Nsem on Spice Fm 91.9, he said that it’s only the domestic users of water who are expected to use the water for free therefore standing pipes built by Ghana water company and operated by vendors at Sekondi must provide services for free.

Checks by Ghana water company indicated that some of its vendors in Sekondi were still selling water to the general public.He warned them to put a stop to it.

“We have information that, Vendors of Ghana Water Company community stand pipes in areas such as Essikado opposite Ph lab, Naval Base, Mpintsim old market and BoabaKrom are still selling the water and will advice them to stop.We want them to know that we will still pay the water bill based on readings of the Meter Reader”.

Vendors were adviced to stay at post in other not to allow the general public to waste the water.

He winded up the conversation by urging the general public to pay for all outstanding bills

“Though bills for April May and June is free but it doesn’t mean that outstanding should not be paid”
