STMA URGES PUBLIC TO REPORT ANY ON-GOING SHODDY PROJECT ON TIME
The Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly has advised its citizens to increase vigilance on ongoing projects in the Metropolis to ensure that constructors are sanctioned to adhere to standards and terms of contract.
The general publics were advised to report their grievances on ongoing project to the authority on time to ensure timely intervention to correct any anomaly.
Responding to Ossikani Frimpong Manso’s comment that some newly built roads in less than a year have begun to see damages, for example from Engyirisia to Essikado and Memmpeasem to Kojokrom roads are all victims of shoddy works undertaken by some contractors in the Metropolis.
The Presiding Member of the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. John Buckman, urged the general public to serve as check and balance on ongoing project to put contractor in the metropolis on their toes to ensure that contract terms are followed to the latter.
‘’We are ready to withhold part payment of any contractor who fails to deliver per agreed standards and to ensure that you go back to work to deliver, but this can also be achieve when the general public gives us feedback on ongoing project on time to ensure timely intervention”
He promised listeners that the Assembly will visit the project site to ensure that sanity prevails.
