The Exhibition of the Voters Register will commence on Tuesday, September 10 and end the following week September 17, 2019.
According to the Electoral Commission, the exercise will take place in the over 30,000 polling stations nationwide.
Voters who were captured in the electoral roll between 2012 and 2019 are expected to visit their respective polling stations where they will be allowed to confirm or review their details.
The Deputy Commission Chairman in charge of Corporate Services, Dr. Bossman Eric Asare explained that the process is only for correctional purposes and not to capture new registrants.
He however added that the exhibition exercise will also allow for requests for name amendments and insertions.
“The exhibition exercise is basically to allow for prospective voters to verify their details, such as name date, age and to ensure that they were properly captured during the registration and make requests for amendments or insertions when necessary…”
Dr. Eric Bossman also revealed that any person who is eligible to register as a voter is allowed to raise objections to unqualified persons who may have registered in the past.
“Additionally any person who is eligible to register as a voter may raise objections to names of unqualified persons at the center.”

Limited voter registration: EC flags about 24,000 multiple registrants
The Electoral Commission (EC) last month disclosed that it had discovered over 24,000 cases of multiple registrations of voters in the recently held limited voter registration exercise.
Their findings followed the EC’s review of the entire process, a month after the registration exercise ended.
The Director of Electoral Services at the EC, Dr Serebour Quaicoe said the discovery was made by a team from the EC, political parties and civil society groups.
“In the course of the registration, we were complaining of some people engaging in the multiple registration. So as at now, we are working on those multiple registration. There is a committee made up of officials at the EC, representatives of the political parties and some civil society organizations. We are still investigating and as at now, we have close to 24,000 people who have engaged in double registration. Some of them registered in 2012, 2016 and 2019. It means whenever we open for registration, they register.”What it means is that the person registered more than once either at the same polling station or a different station.”
