W/R: “BE PATIENT WITH US; WE WILL FIND THE 3 KIDNAPPED TAKORADI GIRLS” – DCOP REDEEMER DEDJOE
The Western Regional Police Commander DCOP Vincent Redeemer Dedjoe has expressed his disappointment with Ghanaians especially residents of Sekondi-Takoradi for not appreciating their efforts to locate and bring back the three kidnapped Takoradi girls.
Months after the Ghana Polices Service official commented on the Takoradi kidnapped girls saga in a press conference stating categorically that they know the whereabouts of the girls and are about closing in on the kidnappers, Ghanians among other civil society groups have called for heads to roll within the Ghana police service since the police among themselves have being giving conflicting reports on this Takoradi kidnapping saga.
But the Western Regional Police Commander DCOP Dedjoe saids the Police together with their partners have taken a lot of security measures with other agencies in a bid to locate and rescue the girls.
According to him the suspect, Samuel O. Wills who is currently serving prison sentence at Sekondi Prisons has on several times refused to cooperate with the police during interrogations, this he said is making it difficult for them to make a head way.
“Kidnapping cases all over the world becomes something like a mystery that diligent work must be done to get to the bottom of issues; …the best thing we have done is to get the one who is responsible and that one is still in our custody. If the one responsible for the crime is not ready to tell you what he has done with the people, it is important for you to take time to get information from the person.”
“If we beat him now and he dies you will not be held responsible, I will be held for murder but that is not the case because when he dies we will not be able to get information: So in the nut shell; we are still working on this issue and by his grace and mercy one day we shall get there,” he added
Meanwhile Advocacy for Youth Groups in conjunction with Western Youth for Justice (WYJ) has threatened to hit the streets of Sekondi-Takoradi on Friday, June 8, 2019 in a peaceful demonstration in solidarity with the families of the three Takoradi Kidnapped girls.
