TAKORADI: MTN Ghana Foundation Donates Science Set-Kits to Bethel Methodist Primary and JHS

MTN Ghana Foundation through a partnership with Desk Technologies have donated dozens of advanced science tool-kits to the Bethel Methodist Primary and Junior High School, in Takoradi of the Western Region.

The Science tool-kits termed as “Science Set” is a mini laboratory toolkit designed and stocked with basic experimental apparatus to aid practical learning of the science subject at the basic level.

The innovation is being piloted in fourteen schools across the country, and it includes Bethel Methodist School.

Acting Regional Senior Manager, Mohammed Tiyuniba Yakubu in his address during the donation noted that MTN Ghana Foundation is very passionate about supporting innovation and learning for the younger generations.

“Currently we are distributing about 2,000 of these to 14 schools in the country. And based on the success stories we will roll out to other schools”, he added.

“From time to time we will come to see how the students are formulating ideas from their classes”, he continued.

Head of Marketing for Desk Technologies, Caleb Fugah stressed that the science set have been tailored to perform at least twenty experimental works at the basic level. He added that tutors have been trained to guide pupils in the usage of the tool-kits.

“We are very grateful for the initiative that MTN has taken. They’ve really proven that they are innovative, and they have the ideas because any educational minded person upon getting into contact with the science set just gets to know the value it adds to education in our country”, MR Fugah mentioned.
