NACOC intercepts 89.74kg of suspected cocaine at Swiss Port in intelligence-led operation

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted a shipment suspected to contain cocaine at the Swiss Port, as part of its ongoing intelligence-driven operations.

The consignment, which was destined for the Netherlands, was seized on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, with the support of NACOC’s K-9 Unit. The operation uncovered 73 slabs of a substance believed to be cocaine, weighing approximately 89.74 kilograms.

According to officials, four suspects have been arrested and are currently assisting with investigations. Preliminary intelligence indicates that some of the narcotics may have already been moved, and NACOC says it is actively monitoring developments.

“This was an intelligence-led operation that flagged the suspicious cargo. Our K-9 officers were deployed in full force to secure the seizure and apprehend those involved,” a source close to the operation revealed.

The Commission has not yet issued an official statement regarding the seizure.

This latest interception highlights NACOC’s ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks and safeguard Ghana’s ports from being exploited as conduits for illicit substances.
