Former Coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Avram Grant has advised Government to start the reformation of Ghana football from the grassroots.
After the premiere of Number 12, an investigative piece by investigative journalist, Anas Aremayaw Anas which saw some officials taking bribes in a video, all football related activities in the country has being halted by the Government. The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has resigned from his post. FIFA in conjunction with Government formed a liaison team after his resignation to pave way for the reformation of football in the country.
Speaking to Julius Abakah Emunah on Friday Night Football, the ex-Chelsea boss advised Government to start the reformation process from the grassroots because the foundation is what will make Ghana Football one of the best in the World.
“I think if Ghana will use this opportunity to build from the beginning, to make a good structure, to put three or four targets, no doubt that their football will be okay, because it’s a nation of football, everybody loves football, the players wants to play and all that, but all the things around it must be done better, the organization.
So if Government will use this opportunity to build from the foundation, even if when you have a house and the foundation is strong, the house exist for a long time, so I think if they do it in a right way. If the country’s target is to develop players through education, I can assure you that, Ghana will be one of the best teams in the World” Avram Grant told Julius Abakah Emunah on Friday Night Football.
