“Most times, people go scot-free when they are sent to court because there’s not enough evidence against them. But with this new decibel machine, we can get evidence to prosecute recalcitrant persons who won’t comply to work within the required noise level in the Municipality,” he said.

Mr Agyarko said, the two urban councils i.e Kwesimintsim and Effia will have a task force made up of a Police personnel and three environmental officers to help put noise under control, adding that there will be specified days for the task force to operate.

He posits that religious bodies will need to get a permit from the Assembly before organizing outdoor events. This, he said will help to issue out the permissible noise level to operate in.

He further gave the requisite noise level industries will have to operate in and was quick to include that the task force will be monitored.
