Takoradi Market Circle Health Post Screens Over 900 People


The Takoradi Market circle health post which was donated by the CEO of Focus 1 Group, Kwame Adu-Mante, has seen its first piece of activity as it served as the venue for a health screening exercise organised by the Ghana Health service and the Brit Lifestyle team with media support from Spice 91.9FM.             

The event which was attended by the donor as well as officials from the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis saw more than one thousand people screened for illnesses such as Hepatitis B, HIV, Hypertension, malaria among others.

The Takoradi market circle,which is the Central Business district, hosts almost all the major businesses in the Western Region. With over nine hundred and eighty six (986) traders , and more than one thousand people trooping in and out of the market on a daily bases, the importance of the health post cannot be overemphasized.

The health post which will be name as Adu-Mante Health Post will be officially commissioned in the coming weeks. Thefacility, estimatedto cost around One hundred thousand Ghana Cedis(GHC100,000) will serve as the first point of call to cater forthe health needs of traders at the market. It will also provide post natal services for new mothers.

The fully air conditioned health post is also fitted with beds for temporary admissions among other medical apparatus. The health screening exercise served as a trial for the facility.
