Janet Egyir and Portia Boakye Grab Best Player and Top Scorer Awards
Black Queens center back Janet Egyir and skipper Portia Boakye were awarded the Best Player and Top Scorer Awards respectively at the Maiden WAFU B Women’s Cup of Nations after finishing 1:0 winners against Ivory Coast in the final game.
Ghana today made amends for their opening day slip against host Ivory Coast to grab the first edition of the WAFU Zone B Women’s Cup of Nations.
Center Back Janet Egyir scored 3 times, 2 against Niger and the much needed winner against Ivory Coast at the final to finish as the tournament’s best player.
Left winger Portia Boakye scored 4 goals and assisted trice – directly involved in 7 of Ghana’s 14 goals in 5 games.
