The Paramount Chief for Essikadu Traditional Area, Nana Kobina Nketsia V, has charged the Akufo Addo government to honor its promises made to the people of Western Region during the 2016 electioneering campaign.
Nana Kobina Nketsia V, sought to remind government of its pledge to relocate the headquarters of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to the Western Region.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, in his campaigning in the Western Region in 2016, promised the Chiefs and people of the region, and Ghanaians in general, to relocate the state agencies in the oil and gas industry to the Western region, in an effort to make the region an oil and gas hub for the country.
So far, only the offices of the GNPC Foundation has been setup in Sekondi- Takoradi and residents of the region are anxious of when this promise will be fully honoured.

Nana Kobina Nketsia V stressed that the relocation of GNPC will revolutionize the country’s economic fortunes, adding that it is something worth encouraging.
He also appealed to government to continue with the harbor expansion works from Takoradi Harbour to the Naval Base at Sekondi, which started under the erstwhile Mahama administration.
Nana Kobina Nketsia V made the appeal when the Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia paid a courtesy call on him at his palace, after a working visit to the Western Naval Command.
