Portia Boakye confirmed as stand-in captain for WAFU Women's Cup of Nations

The technical team of the Black Queens have confirmed winger Portia Boakye as the skipper for the maiden WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations at the absence of Elizabeth Addo.
Elizabeth Addo was excused from the squad after securing herself a deal with USA based side Seattle Reigns.
Stopgap coach, Mercy Tegoe-Quarcoo  appointed the Ferencvárosi TC attacker as the skipper for the tournament that kick-start tomorrow.
Portia Boakye was named the substantive captain having made the team as one of the longest-serving members of the current Black Queens squad.



Ghana will take on host Cote d’ Ivoire in the opening match on Wednesday, February 14.
