Captain of Ghana’s Female Senior Women’s national team, Elizabeth Addo has been excused from the 2018 WAFU squad due to her transfer to USA’s topflight side Seattle Reign.
Ama Pele as referred to popularly completed a move to Seattle Reign from Swedish club Kvarnsveden where she has been since 2016.
The 24-year-old transfer to the two-time Shield winners emerged as the reason for her omission from the Black Queens squad for the maiden WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations.
Stopgap coach Mercy Tagoe named 21 players for the tournament to be hosted in Ivory Coast starting Wednesday February 14 to Saturday February 24.
