16 schools failed to turn up for the competition including St. John’s School, the closest school to the competition grounds (GNAT hall) that didn’t turn up.
Beachfmonline.com was at St. John’s School on Thursday, February 8 to find out the reason for their failure to show up and Mr. Francis Atsugah, Assistant Headmaster of Administration stated that the School didn’t turn up because of their ill-preparation and failure to push high at the national level in previous editions of the competition.
“We are always there at the nationals, but cannot make it up to the top as one of the best schools. We don’t want to go and make up the numbers, no disgrace this time, so we opted not to compete this year, we will prepare for next year’s competition.” – Ass. Headmaster Francis Atsugah told www.beachfmonline.com
Eleven Schools from the Western Region will be competing at this year’s edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
