Ellembelle District Has Announced Ghc2000 Cash Prize For Information Leading To The Arrest Of The Four Gang Rap Suspects

The District Commander of the Police, Superintendent Thomas Bayor on Sunday 28th January 2018 assured the parents of the fourteen-year-old girl who was defiled by four men within the Ellembelle district that the command would work hard to bring perpetrators of the heinous crime to book.
“Just have trust in the police, these men will not go free… justice will prevail, all we need is your cooperation and willingness to give information on the matter”, he added.
Superintendent Bayor dispel the notion that the police were not ready to follow up on the matter.
The District Commander of Police together with the District Chief Executive, Bonzo K, the Coordinating Director and the District Social welfare officer visited the home of the fourteen-year-old victim to commiserate with the family and assured them of the DISEC support in resolving the matter through the laws of the land.
The victim, a class four pupil of a basic school in the area was lured by the four men who are regular customers to the mother’s food and drinking joint.
On that fateful day, the four men believed to have carried out the inhuman act came to base to buy food and drinks and realizing that the parents were away enticed the victim to follow them to the sea shore to collect fish and allegedly carried out the barbaric act on the way after drugging her with a bottle of soft drink.
The four men, aged 35, 25, 18 and 17 recognizing the danger and nature of crime committed had left the town with police investigation still ongoing to arrest the wrongdoers.

Mr. James Akpah, the father of the victim explained to the team that initially mothers of two of the culprits came to their house for amicably solution but the refusal by the victim’s parents gingered their running away from the two.
The victim’s mother said, “all this while I had lost out on any hope and helper in bringing these people to book but your coming here this afternoon has given me assurance that there is hope for me and my daughter”.
Mr. Bonzo K, the District Chief Executive described the act as disgusting and one that must be condemned by all and sundry and bring justice to bear on the matter.
The assembly, he said, had instituted a reward package in the sum of GH2000 for any citizen that would provide information leading to the arrest of the four suspects.

He said the matter was a social security matter that must the given the needed attention in order to deter others from engaging in such acts adding, “We cannot sit down and see these vices gain roots in the society…let nib it in the bud”.
The assembly later presented some items together with a cash of GHC1000 to offset some of the medical bills whilst the assembly looks for alternative school for the victim.
Mr. Wisdom Baknuyega, the District Social Welfare Officer said psycho-social counselling had already started and the officers from now on would visit the victim twice weekly to help her in the recovery process.
