Akufo-Addo vows to support Ghanaian manufacturing firms

Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured local manufacturing firms in Ghana of the government’s commitment to providing essential assistance in the face of recent economic challenges.

During a visit to Blue Skies Company Limited near Nsawam, which employs 4,500 Ghanaians and has been operating for 25 years, the President emphasized the importance of supporting local industries amid reports of closures.

Group CEO Hugh Pile highlighted the need for government backing to expand operations and tackle issues in the pineapple sector.

“We believe agriculture is the beating heart of our success but the pineapple industry in this country has faced real challenges. It has shrunk and shrunk and shrunk. So how can we find ways to support farmers to reengage with Pineapple.”

After touring the facility and addressing the staff, President Akufo-Addo praised Blue Skies’ work and pledged government assistance.

“I’m impressed with the work of the company. With people like you, there’s hope for the future. I have assured your bosses of the government’s support to the company,” he affirmed.
