Ghana’s Black Princesses defensive midfielder, Ernestina Abambila is adamant of a fifth consecutive world cup appearance in France later this year, but reckons her outfit need to put in additional work to outwit their Cameroonian counterparts in the second leg.
Ghana fought back from behind to draw one all at Yaounde against Cameroon. The host has earlier shot forward in the first half, but Ampem Darkoa Ladies forward and skipper of Under-20 female side, Priscilla Adubea took her tally for the qualifying campaign to 9 goals as Ghana secured a 52nd minute equalizer against the Les Indomitable Lioness.
The results then means Ghana’s Female Youth team will have the advantage going into the second leg with an away goal against the Cameroonians – Ghana will host the second leg in a fortnight at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Ernestina Abambila who has played for all female national teams[U-17, U-20 and Black Queens] believes her outfit still has to put in additional work to ensure the second leg ends in their favor – made her senior national team debut against France last year.
“Yes, I’m very positive we are going to qualify, we are going to qualify, but we have to put in additional work. Officiating on the day didn’t favor us, but that not said we had a good result worth taking into a second leg” – Ernestina Abambila told George Nitro Duah.
The FC Minsk midfielder played part in all games for Ghana’s Under-17 at the 2014 World Cup at Costa Rica and played in all games for Ghana’s Under-20 at 2016 FIFA Female Under-20 World Cup at Papua New Guinea.
