Premier League side, Stoke City have appointed Paul Lambert as the club’s manager on a two-and-a-half year contract prior to their Monday Night, week 23 encounter against Manchester United at the Old Trafford.
Paul Lambert, 48, who previously managed Norwich City and Aston Villa in the Premier League, will take charge of the first team following their visit to Manchester United on Monday night.
Lambert replaces previous manager Mark Hughes, with the Potters lying 18th in the table.
The Scot’s first match at Stoke will be at home against Huddersfield Town on Saturday 20 January.
Chairman Peter Coates told Stoke’s official website: “Paul greatly impressed us with his knowledge of our squad and had a clear plan of how he would improve our results.
“He’s a man who backed himself as a player, none more so than when he turned down contract offers in Scotland to go on trial in the German Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, and it’s obvious he adopts the same approach as a manager.
