“If Dwarfs supporters are calling for my head, I'll add the whole body” – Coach Bashiru Hayford
Coach Bashiru Hayford is not perturbed about his future as Ebusua Dwarfs coach despite conceding 10 goals in his first 2 games as the club’s head coach in the GHALCA G-8 tournament.
Coach Bashiru Hayford lost to his former side, Medeama SC in the opening day encounter by 5:6 and failed to hold his own against Karela United FC as Aguero Taylor and William Opoku combined to produce two goals each against the Cape Coast based side.
Agitated section of the Crabs supporters referred to as “Gardens” is calling for the former Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold SC manager’s head despite spending just two weeks at post – at the post match conference after losing 4:0 to newly promoted side, Karela United FC, the outspoken manager claimed that his head won’t be enough, but his whole body is there for the supporters.
“I’m not yet the head coach, so if they are calling for my head then I will give them my whole body. Negotiations are still ongoing and I opted to come and observe the players, so if they want my head then they should come for my whole body.
“I understand that the regular players are only 3, and the rest are here for justifiers. The team is rebuilding, I opted to come and observe – those who weren’t regular last season are those playing now. I want to tell the supporters that my head is there for them” – Coach Bashiru Hayford concluded.
Dwarfs will be playing Accra Hearts of Oak in the final group game on Saturday.
