Hearts of Oak lose to resolute Medeama SC
Accra Hearts of Oak were reduced to nothing at the Cape Coast Stadium on Day Two of the GHALCA-8 tournament by two quick goals from Medeama’s Kwame Boateng and Agyenim Boateng.
The Yellow and Mauves took off from where they left off against the Crab on Match Day one scoring their 7th and 8th goals against the loud mouth Rainbow team to book a slot to the semifinals – the first team to do so.
Centre forward Kwame Boateng scored in the 15th minute, his third of the competition and 6th as far as the preseason tournament is concerned connecting beautifully to a Tetteh Zuttah cross.
Again Agyenim Boateng who scored two goals against Ebusua Dwarfs added the cushioning to round up an impressive start to coach Samuel Boadu’s coaching career – the attacker capitalised on a horrendous defending by Richard Akrofi.
Justice Blay and Ali Quattara were forced out due to injury.
The second half was a case of game management for Medeama as Hearts struggled to break them down. Frank Nutall simply had no answers to Coach Samuel Boadu’s tactical masterclass.
Medeama will take on Karela United next as they look to wrap up top spot in Group B while Hearts of Oak’s qualification to the knock out phase hangs in the balance when they come up against Dwarfs.
