Accra Hearts of Oak maintain new captain despite Abbey’s return
Ghana Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak have chosen center back Inusah Musah as the club’s new skipper despite the return of Thomas Abbey.
Thomas Abbey who was the club’s substantive captain throughout the 2016-17 season lost his post to center back Inusah Musah after staging a revolt against the club for floating status.
Abbey, who scored 13 goals throughout the 2016-17 Ghana Premier League campaign secured a floating status and was away for two weeks in South Africa, for which a purported negotiations with Ajax Cape Town and Cape Town City Football Club couldn’t materialise.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak skipper returned to training yesterday[January 8] with the Rainbow Family at the Ajax Park, Legon, but the club top hierarchy insist Inusah Musah will remain the club’s captain for which beachfmonline.com/sports can confirm.
Inusah Musah led Accra Hearts of Oak to victory against Ghana Premier League newbies, Karela United Football Club in the opening day of the GHALCA-EIGHT tournament.
