Good Start for Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak in GHALCA 8

2016-17 Ghana Premier League campaigners; Aduana Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak secured victories against Dreams Football Club and Karela United Football Club respectively in the opening day of the GHALCA Eight tournament.
Ghana Premier League holders and defending champions Aduana Stars defeated Dreams Football Clubs 1-0 and at the Cape Coast Stadium, Accra Hearts of Oak held on to their solitary goal and urged past the Nzema Ayinase side Karela United.
Fatawu Abdulman connected beautifully to a Noah Martey corner kick to give Ogyaa Mba[Aduana Stars] the win -despite The Still Believe[Dreams FC] side putting up a strong challenge after the break.
Kurt Okraku owned Dreams FC will lie bottom and Aduana Stars up on Group A; Asante Kotoko and Techiman Eleven Wonders taking to the field later today.



Hearts shot into the lead in the 28th minute after Cosmos Dauda used his upper body strength to overpower karela defender Yusif Kareem on the bye-line before setting up the onrushing Isaac Mensah, who brilliantly dived to power the Phobians in front.
The Phobians had a couple of clear-cut chances to increase their tally but fluffed it. However, Karela United failed to threaten their goal.
Hearts by virtue have moved to the summit of Group B.
The competition continues today with Kotoko taking on Eleven Wonders (Group A) and Ebusua Dwarfs squaring off against Medeama (Group B).
