Mohammed Salah named African Player of the Year
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been named Aiteo African Player of the Year for 2017.
The Egyptian helped his country to the finals of AFCON 2017 and scored the goal that secured Egypt a place at this year’s World Cup.
The forward has been in superb form sinice joining Liverpool from AS Roma,scoring 23 goals already this season.
Senegal’s Sadio Mane who is Salah’s club team mate came second, with Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finishing third.
Salah’s national team coach Hector Cupar was named coach of the year after guiding the Pharaohs to this summer’s Fifa World Cup in Russia.
Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala emerged as the best African female footballer.
