Ebenezer Ofori joins former France national Patrick Vieira at New York City FC
Major League Soccer side New York City FC have today completed a swoop for Ghanaian midfielder, Ebenezer Ofori from German Bundesliga VfB Stuttgart.
The 22-year old, Black Stars midfielder has signed a one-year loan deal with an option for New York City to purchase Ofori permanently at the end of the 2018 season.
Ebenezer Ofori becomes New York City’s eighth signing following Saad Abdul-Salaam, Jo Inge Berget, Cedric Hountondji, Jesus Medina, Brad Stuver, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and Anton Tinnerholm to the Club.
Ofori has been given an opportunity to revive his career after warming the bench at the Bundesliga outfit.
Ebenezer Ofori will be working together with Coach Patrick Vieira. The former Les Bleues national expressed his delight for capturing the services of the Ghanaian.
“I’m really excited to bring in Ebenezer,” said NYCFC coach Patrick Vieira.
“He’s a young player who is looking to improve, he is really dynamic and can cover ground. He’s really aggressive, but he’s good with the ball, too. I’m really pleased that we managed to bring him to the football club.”
Ofori has also become an integral part of the new-look Black Stars midfield and getting a lot of game-time in the MLS will certainly delight Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah.
