95 drivers arrested in Kumasi for defaulting road regulations

Some 95 drivers who ply the Suame rout have been arrested by the Suame MTTD unit of the Ghana police service for various road offenses including failing to wear their seat belts as well as defying road traffic regulations.
The arrested road offenders consisting of commercial drivers and tricycle (aboboyaa) riders were later released after being offered a free road safety sensitisation by the MTTD officials at the forecourt of their office at Suame this morning.
Suame MTTD commander, ASP K.K Kawodie, told Spice News the exercise was to ensure accident free this festive season.
He however advised road users to be extra cautious when using the road during this period to reduce road accidents.
