The entire Tamale Metropolis and its environs have been plunged into total darkness after fire gutted the main GRIDCo transmission and distribution station at Choggu on Monday the evening.
Though the cause of the fire is immediately not known a deed throat sources closer to the GRIDCo has revealed to Beach News that the breakers of NEDCo have all been completely burnt and fire fighters are currently at the scene trying to douse the inferno.
Beach News learnt the whole Tamale Township is currently in total darkness because of the fire.
“The whole area is smoky so I am unable to tell exactly the cause of fire and what has been destroyed or not”. An Official, name withheld revealed to Beach 105.5 FM.
