Kofi Kinaata is much more than a rapper – Samini

High Grade Family’s top gun, Emmanuel Andrews Samini, known simply by his fans and music lovers as Samini has described Kofi Kinaata as a through and through musician.
Kofi Kinaata, widely known for his rapping abilities and lyrical dexterity prior to his being signed onto Samini Muisic/High Grade Family by Samini in 2013, has lost face amongst rap heads, especially in his home town, Takoradi where he began his career.
According to many of his fans who knew him for his wordplay and punch lines, he has lost touch with who he was in the beginning due to his choosing to ‘sing’ in almost all his compositions after coming into the limelight.
In the view of many people, Kofi Kinnata’s arm is being twisted by his label heads to churn out more ‘singing’ compositions as that genre/style fetches more money.

However, in an interview on Beach 105.5 FM with Skinny Akwasi Agyekum Gyimah, during E-BUZZ, Samini refuted that claim by saying it certainly was not his “decision that Kinaata goes towards the ‘singing’ direction”.
To further clear the air about the issue, Samini compared Kinaata to EL, who he described as a “sick rapper”, and also a “good singer” who masterfully does both styles in order to “cut across.”

He asserted that since Kofi Kinnata also has “the ability to sing, why not? It is just him experimenting and exploring himself.”
The Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall veteran, Samini in conclusion affirmed that Kofi Kinaata is “an all round musician” and must be seen as such because his “abilities go beyond solely rapping.”
