WhatsApp releases new “Delete” feature
WhatsApp Messenger, the most popular alternative to SMS for many people around the world, has rolled out its newest feature which will see users be able to delete messages sent mistakenly — whether to one person or an entire group.
The new feature will come as a relief to many WhatsApp users who have long awaited its release, as it will help save face.
According to Facebook – owners of WhatsApp – successfully deleted messages will be replaced with “This message was deleted” in the recipients chat.
Here’s how it works:
• Users must first download the latest version of Whatsapp
• The recipient must also be using the latest version of WhatsApp for the message to be deleted successfully
• To delete a message, the user must then tap and hold on the message, choose “Delete,” and then “Delete for everyone.”
• Users however have only seven minutes to delete a message after it is sent, as it will be impossible beyond the seventh minute
