Factors that shorten the life span of a Smartphone

The average smartphone life expectancy is around 4.7 years thus like less than 5 years.
Good care can really extend the life of a smartphone, but smartphone makers are actually designing these products to last a couple of years, rather than several.
Here are some factors that shorten the life span of a smartphone:
• Software Longevity: You know sometimes your phone gets so slow that it takes some seconds to respond to your commands or touch. You try to open the keypad and it takes a longer time to open. It’s all because the core software its running is outdated. By ‘core software’ I mean the android operating system or the iOS for iPhone is outdated. Manufacturers often stop servicing legacy devices as they age, so software and operating systems will no longer receive updates to improve performance.
• Battery life: With this you will charge your phone but still the battery drains quickly. Some even become desk phones; without power the phone can’t stay on. But battery life is also something that you can control. Let’s follow these helpful battery tips to get much more life out of your smartphone:

  • Avoid running down the battery to zero.
  • Avoid overcharging the battery.
  • Keep the battery away from excessive heat or strong magnets.

• Usage: Regular daily use takes its toll on your smartphone over time, with dirt and debris often accumulating in hard-to-reach places. So Try to keep your phone away from excessive dust and clean it regularly using a cotton swab. In addition, make sure you aren’t pressing on your phone’s screen too hard when you use it, as this can reduce screen sensitivity and could cause cracks. A gentle press is all it takes for touchscreen phones.
• Obsolesce: Apple just released iPhone 8s during the release it announced to release iPhone x in November. So whenever there’s a new release of a phone the previous one becomes obsolete. Smartphone manufacturers are constantly working on new versions of their products.
