Takoradi Senior High School and Archbishop Porter Girls Senior High School failed to advance to the quarter finals stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz in their respective contests.
Ghana National College pulled 50 points to finish 14 points better than the Western Region’s representative in the competition, Archbishop Porter Girls Senior High School who finished second on the log with Aburi Girls Senior High School scoring 28 points to finish third.
The attention of the western region was then turned towards Takoradi Senior High School’s contest against defending champions Adisadel College and New Juaben Senior High School. ADISCO after trailing in the first two rounds of the contest gathered thirty points in the last three rounds to secure 50 points to TADISCO’s 38 at the third place with New Juabeng finishing second with 40 points.
Western Region’s hopes now lie in 2012 champions and 2014 finalist Ghana Secondary Technical School. The Giants will vie for the sole spot on Friday in a competition with three times champions Prempeh College and Aduman Senior High School.
