Ghana Secondary Technical School proved too strong for Wesley Grammar School and Tepa Senior High School in the first contest of day four of the National Science and Maths Quiz.

The 2012 champions amassed 48 points at the end of the final round to advance at the expense of Wesley Grammar who managed 36 and Tepa SHS who ganered 28.
It looked one sided from round one as the 2012 champions of the National Science and Maths Quiz sailed through comfortably to join Takoradi Senior High School and Archbishop Porter Girls Secondary School as schools from the Western Region to have earned a quarter final berth.
Sekondi College, Half Assini Senior High School and Nsein Senior High School are the remaining three school from the Western Region vying for a quarter final slot.
