Gyan to mark 50th Goal with live band performance
Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan will celebrate his 50th goal for Ghana with a live band performance on Friday at the Gold Cast restaurant in Accra.
Gyan opened the scoring in a 5:0 demolishing against Ethiopia last sunday to achieve the feat in his 102nd appearance for the Black Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium. The former Sunderland striker also holds the record for the highest scoring Ghanaian player as well as the highest scoring African at the Fifa World Cup.
Asamoah Gyan began his career with the youth side of Ghana Premier League club Liberty professionals and broke into the main team before debuting for the Black Stars of Ghana against Somalia in 2003.
At 31 Gyan has become a pivotal member of the team’s attack proving potent in continental and global competitions having appeared in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 world cups.
“Baby Jet” will be backed by his ASA Band, and is expected to perform such songs as “African Girls”, and ” Odo Pa”‘, both of which he recorded alongside missing hip life star Castro.
