WESTERN REGION TO HOST GHANA’S FIRST EVER GOLD EXPO ON 8TH MARCH-MINISTER
The Western Regional Minister, Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah has announced today that Ghana’s first ever international exhibition of gold dubbed ‘‘2020 Gold Expo’’ is expected to be held in the Western Region from 8th to 10th of March 2020.
The event is a strategic initiative expected to create a gold market for stakeholders and increase the level of investments in community mining activities in the region.
‘‘The first ever gold export dubbed ‘2020 Gold Expo’ to be held in March 2020 at the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel, Takoradi. The event is strategic initiative that seeks to create a synergy among stakeholders as well as build proper structures to bring transparency in the gold trade ’’
He made this known when he had a press briefing with the Western regional press at the residency forecourt of the Western Regional Co-ordinating council, where he discussed expected projects for 2020 and took a retrospective look at 2019.
The Western region currently hosts Anglo Gold Ashanti, Tarkwa, Admus Resource Limited, Goldfields (Tarkwa /Daman ) Golden Start Resource (Wassa Akyempem /Bogoso) and many other mining services.
