WAFU Stars Power Hearts of Oak to a 2:1 Victory Against Wa All Stars

2017 WAFU gold medalists, Patrick Razak and Kwame Kizito scored as Accra Hearts of Oak booked the first ticket to the 2017 MTN FA Cup final, advanced with a 2:1 victory over 2016 Ghana Premier League champions, Wa All Stars.
Coach Elliot Frank Nuttal left out Vicent Atinga, but started Patrick Razak, Thomas Abbey, Winful Cobbina and Kwame Kizito who played part in Ghana’s Black Stars B’s triumph in the FOX TV WAFU 2017.

Hearts colors well represented

Patrick Razak opened the score sheet against his former side with just 32 minutes played. The 22-year-old connected beautifully a cross from the right side of the flank to unsettle the Northern Blues.
The Phobians continued their dominance, but failed to find the cushioning as the half ended 1:0 advantage the most successful club of the FA Cup competition.
A brilliant trio made up of Winful Cobbina, Leonard Tawiah and Man of the Match, Malik Akowuah were all Hearts of Oak needed to box the midfield.
It wasn’t anything different from the first half, the second half saw Hearts of Oak continuing from where they left off in the first half, this time, a cross from skipper, Thomas Abbey  was adequately controlled by Kwame Kizito and placed beyond goalkeeper Rashid Seidu.
Wa All Stars were outclassed by the ever attacking Hearts of Oak team – Samuel Atta Mensah who came on in the second half ignited some parity in terms of possession for Wa All Stars, the 18-year-old brilliantly found the back of the net in the 68th minute to finish off the game 2:1 advantage Hearts of Oak.
Accra Hearts of Oak now await the winner of the other semifinal game between rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Medeama Sporting Club.
