W/R- INCHABAN, WASSA AKROPONG, ELUBO, HALF- ASSINI AND SHAMA ARE OFFICIAL ENTRY POINTS FOR PASSENGER SCREENING

The Western Regional Security Council (W-REGSEC) as part of measures to complement the overall objective of the partial locked down in Greater Accra including Tema, and Effutu in the Central Region, as well as the Greater Kumasi in the Ashanti Region has put measures in place to screen passengers from specific entry points in the region.

The entry points as cited by beachfmonline in an intercepted document signed by Western Regional Minister, Hon Kobi Okyere Darko Mensah, included: Badukrom (Tollbooth)/Inchaban on the Takoradi-Cape Coast Road, Wassa Akropong in the Amenfi East Municipality, Elubo in the Jomoro Municipality, and the Coastline (Half- Assini – Shama) where travelers into the Western region will be medically screened with effect from Sunday,March 29th, 2020 before allowed entry.

The minister also stated that from March 30, 2020 vehicles that will not be delivering essential service are expected to be returned to their origin.

“Vehicles not on essential services from the locked down Regions shall be returned with effect from Monday, March 30, 2020. On the other hand too, passenger vehicles from the Western Region will not, and should not be allowed into the locked down Regions”.
