Police have picked up three people suspected to be thieves at the scene of the gas explosion last Saturday night at Atomic Junction, Madina.
Early Monday morning on Adom News, Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Police Service, DSP Shellia Abayie Buckman, confirmed the arrest of the suspected thieves.
In an interview with Adom News’ Kwame Kulenu, Shellia Abayie Buckman explained that the three were seen stealing from shops and other properties deserted at the Atomic Junction gas explosion site when they were accosted.
DSP Buckman said they are currently in custody at the Madina police station and would be arraigned before the court on Monday, October 9, 2017.
She also noted that security officers have been deployed to the area to protect life and properties and to also control traffic.
DSP Buckman warned against any plan to embark on any criminal act to be rescinded, she further claimed that the police is on red alert and none of such act could go unnoticed.
