During his nationwide tour and engagement with the clergy in the Western North Region, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, unveiled a pledge to offer tuition-free tertiary education to all University-bound persons with disabilities in Ghana.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized that while scholarships are typically available to diverse groups, his administration would prioritize scholarships for individuals with disabilities.
Starting from 2025, these scholarships will cover both academic and residential expenses.
Dr. Bawumia affirmed his commitment to this initiative, ensuring that funds from the scholarship secretariat and the GET Fund will facilitate free tertiary education for qualifying persons with disabilities.
