Have The Courage To Borrow And Invest In Businesses – W/R Minister

The Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah has charged young people in the region to have the courage to borrow and invest in businesses.

” What I want the people of Western Region to know is that they should find the beautiful ideas that fit the needs of the market they want to operate in, and they should have the courage to invest in that idea.

I believe that a lot of the people in Western Region are capable of doing so many things for themselves and the region and the country.

I want to encourage them to borrow and invest, “He said.

He made this call at the launch of the 2022 Regional Green Job Fair organised with funding from the European Union in Ghana and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana under the Green Project.

Mr. Darko Mensah in an exclusive interview with Beach Newsroom rehashed that young people should be bold to invest in the sectors of the local economy. He mentioned that there are times non-natives come to the region to enjoy the good things of the land whilst the indigenes only complain without doing nothing.

In his view, two or more people can come together to identify and satisfy the need of Ghanaians and in return make money out of that.

He observed that most times, capital acquisition becomes a stumbling block to most startups, and hence they sit idle without pursuing their dreams.

” I also believe that if you don’t have too much capital, you should also come together and work together. Why can’t two or three people set up a carpentry shop and deliver what the market needs?” He quizzed.

Mr. Mensah admonished people to take the courage to borrow money and invest in their ideas which can help create jobs in the region.

He again encouraged them to produce locally manufactured goods like soap and toilet rolls amongst other essential commodities, since the government is set to ban some listed goods from being imported into the country.
