Former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Dapaah, has urgently called for a speedy hearing regarding the Office of the Special Prosecutor‘s application to confirm the seizure of money found in her home and the subsequent freezing of her bank accounts.

In a bid to expedite the process, Madam Dapaah stressed that the ongoing legal actions have taken a toll on her, causing significant hardship, stress, and embarrassment.

This move comes after the High Court initially directed the Office of the Special Prosecutor to unfreeze her accounts and return the confiscated funds.

However, the money was promptly re-seized, and her accounts re-frozen shortly thereafter.

In her application for abridgment, Cecilia Dapaah underlined that each day’s delay in resolving the matter only exacerbates the hardship she is enduring. Therefore, she has proposed that the case be heard on October 11 to expedite the process and alleviate the burden she currently faces.

Furthermore, Cecilia Dapaah vehemently refuted allegations made by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

It had been claimed that she was involved in real estate transactions using aliases and that her late brother’s bank accounts were still transferring funds to her.

In response, Cecilia Dapaah labeled these assertions as misleading and inaccurate, aiming to set the record straight on these matters.
