Activate Favourable Economic Strategies To Reduce Inflation – Gov’t Urged

Economist Dr Patrick Asuming says there has not been enough significant effort made in reducing the country’s inflation to appreciable levels.

His comments come after the Ghana Statistical Service, GSS announced a marginal drop in the inflation rate from 56.3 per cent in January 2023 to 52.8 per cent in February 2023.

According to GSS, the indicated relative stability recorded in the forex market is not a key determinant in the overall analysis of the marginal decline in the inflation rate for February.

He opined that the figures announced by the Ghana Statistical Service, GSS could be brought down if policymakers can activate and sustain favourable economic strategies.

Dr Asuming says the 52.8 inflation is too high, and if the country continues on the current trend there could be a marginal reduction.
