Youth Of Wassa Akropong To Form A Watchdog Committee To Curtail Criminal Activities In The Municipality

The Chief of the Wassa Akropong Nana Asafoakyere Badu says a watchdog committee programme will be organised in the municipality.

This move forms part of measures to curb the upsurge of armed robbery and other criminal activities in the municipality.

Speaking at the ordinary meeting of the assembly he noted that the Chiefs are collaborating with the Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service, MCE to help train volunteers of the watch committees to make them more effective.

Nana Asafoakyere Badu urges residents to show keen interest in the formation of the committees and also make this exercise a serious concern of all.

” We are all aware of the criminal and killing activities in this town. We have security personnel in this town, however, they cannot do it alone. Chiefs of this town have decided to set up a watchdog committee to fight these people.

We are collaborating with the Divisional police and MCE to train our youths and are encouraging all hardworking youths whether native or foreigner to participate in this exercise,” He stated.
