Residents Of Takoradi Urged to Patronize Local Business – Chamber of Commerce

The Western Regional Chamber of Commerce is Calling on residence in Sekondi Takoradi and in the Western Region at large to support businesses in the region to grow by patronizing their services.

According the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry the general attitude of residents in Sekondi-Takoradi and it environs traveling to either Accra or Kumasi to buy everything is hampering the growth of businesses in the Twin City thereby negatively affecting the local economy.

Western Region’s Chairman for the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Stephane “Abbas” Miezan told Business Today’s Kojo Ennimil Arthur that “with even better quality or equal price, people here thinks that they should travel to Accra to transact whatever business and come back whiles that thing could have been done here. Its about time we patronize things in Sekondi and Takoradi and not run to Accra or Kumasi simply because of one or two cedis difference in prices.”

“If you patronize businesses here that is how your business will equal grow because money will always be in circulation within the local economy but if you take your money to Kumasi or Accra then together we are destroying the only economy we have,” he stressed.

“Abbas” Miezan however pleaded with residents in Sekondi-Takoradi and the Western Region at large to ensure that they assist businesses in the region to grow by patronizing their services.

“We need to do this to support ourselves, because once the city grows then our business will flourish as well”
