NO INSECURITY IN SEKONDI TAKORADI, POLICE ASSURES

The Western regional police commander, Vincent Redeemer Dedjoe has debunked the view that there is insecurity in Sekondi Takoradi as a result of the increased number of kidnapped cases and other criminal issues which were recently recorded in the region.

Responding to the issue of insecurity which has engulfed the city in recent times during a press briefing at the police Headquarters at Sekondi, the Western Regional Commander said that security in Sekondi Takoradi has not been compromised as many have alleged, but challenged the general public to complement the efforts of the Police toward apprehending criminals in Society.

“It is not true that security has been compromised in Sekondi Takoradi, security is not the Sole responsibility of the Police, it’s a shared responsibility. When you look at the measures the police has put on the grounds ,the general public have to complement our efforts toward security but what is the general public doing? (he questioned).These measures should tell you that we are more than ready for the christmas festive.”

He also spoke to beachfmonline about the police preparation towards the Christmas

“We are putting 500 personnel on the grounds in the Western Region , Sekondi Takoradi will be protected by over 200 personnel though it’s suppose to be 150 but we will fall on the support of our personnel from the various offices to augment the efforts of the 150 police men”

He added that the celebration in Sekondi has different Phenomenon because it comes with a unique Masquerades Festival, the Potomato event and lots more therefore there is the need to apply the right value system to ensure that Sanity prevails .
