According to Joey B, signing your fellow artistes on to your label isn’t a bad idea but sign someone on genuinely for their betterment and not for you as the Artiste to look good.
Joey B added that the problem with signing artiste to your label is, you sign them on, they blow big and that’s when they would start disrespecting you.
In an interview with Jay Foley on Hitz FM with regards to artistes signing other artistes on to their label, he said,
“Signing artistes on to your own label isn’t a bad idea but for me, I’m not sure i would sign any artiste; i might co-produce, endorse you or something of a sort but i won’t sign any new act. Because if you don’t take care, after the artistes blow big, that artiste might disappoint you and you would rather be very hurt for helping someone.”
