COVID-19 : WESTERN REGIONAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM SCREENS PASSENGERS AT INCHABAN BARRIER

The Western Regional Emergency Response Team is currently screening passengers who are making their way to the Western Region following President’s announcement of a temporary partial lock down in some parts of Accra and Kumasi effective Monday 30th March 2020 at 1am.

Human and Vehicular movement have come to a halt as a result of the on-going mandatory Covid-19 screening excercise.

Passengers are made to step down for their temperature to be checked with an Infrared Thermometer gun.

Those who test above normal temperature levels like(37.5) are isolated and taken to a holding facility for further investigation for the Covid-19 Virus.

Beachfmoline source at the boarder revealed that some of the passengers were refereed to the holding facility for a further investigation but we cannot confirmed the exact number.

President Akufo-Addo on Friday announced that effective Monday, 30th March, 2020 at 1 am under the Imposition of Restrictions Act, 2020 (Act 1012), there will be restrictions on movement of persons in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA, which include Awutu Senya East ), and the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area and contiguous districts, for a period of two (2) weeks or 14 days subject to review.
