Most celebrities with flashy lifestyle are living on debts-Ashes

Ashes, a renowned artiste manager, currently managing highlife sensation Kwabena Kwabena, has made a mind blowing revelation. Asserting that most celebrities living lavishly are just for the cameras and behind the cameras, they are swimming in debts.

On Spice Fm’s after drive “Ofie ne fie”, Ashes made it known to the host, Nana Ama Shancy, that since there are no proper structures in the entertainment industry, creatives tend to suffer their way through which leaves most of them no option but to create the impression that they are living good. “Most of the celebrities living flashy lifestyle are living on debts. I mean the system isn’t functioning properly, leaving most artistes frustrated and they are left with no option “, he revealed.

“Artiste are supposed to look good. They can’t go out looking wretched and so if they don’t have what it takes, what do you expect them to do? They’ll definitely borrow. You can’t blame them because unstructured system makes it uneasy for them to live comfortably as they should”, he emphasized.

He added up with the fact that our system is such that if you’re no more making music, you seize to make money and that’s what worsen the ordeals of the veterans in the industry. “When you go abroad, artistes who are no more doing music are reaping from their already made projects. Now let’s come to Ghana, veterans who had made great impact mostly solicit for funds at the end because we are in a country where artiste only make money when they get shows”, he lamented.

According to Ashes, we can do better as a country only if the government takes the the creative arts industry as serious as other avenues.
The industry is depressed and so most artistes are depressed-Ashes

Artiste manager for Kwabena Kwabena popularly known as Ashes, has stated categorically that the Ghana music industry is depressed and so most artistes in Ghana are also depressed.

Ashes who has worked with quite a number of artiste has unfolded how most artistes one way or the other get depressed due to our malnourished industry which is quite unfavorable. “Look the industry itself is depressed and so most artistes to are depressed. Unstable industry, lack of investors and the struggles faced by our artistes to get to the top is appalling. Why won’t they be depressed?

These days if you want top producers you’ll pay not less than Ghc 5,000. You’ll spend not less than Ghc30,000 for music videos. You have to budget like 40,000 at least to promote the song for it to be a hit. Most artiste are doing this single handedly and you think it’s not normal for them to be depressed”, he questioned.

Per Ashes statements, artiste struggle their way out to be unveiled by a hit song and so people should avoid calling them expensive when they charge for shows. “An artiste will go through a lot to be on top and when they charge for shows people sit at the comfort of their homes and troll them without knowing the investment they’ve made in themselves”, he added

Ashes suggests that if the music industry is made attractive by the government purposely by investing in it and building effective structures, the mental stress of most musicians will surely be cut down.
