Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, the running mate of President Mahama and the NDC in an interview stated her achievements when she was the Minister of Education.
All of a sudden people have started making comparisons on Jean Naana Opoku Agyemang’s achievements after being named by the John Mahama as the running mate for this year’s elections.
Speaking on the criticism on Live 107.5 in cape coast she pinpointed the works she did when she was the minister of education.
She explained that people tagged her to be the one who quashed the teacher’s training allowance hence need to explain the reasons which led to that.
She said her intervention in the college of education has made the country to produce more teachers to solve the shortage of professional teachers at the basic schools.
She indicated that the number of Professional teachers were few in basic schools and was a quoter system which wasn’t allowing college of education to admit more students.
Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang disclosed that after the colleges attained the tertiary status they talked to GETFUND to provide loans to students as they do in universities to help increase the intake in order to get more trained teachers to teach in basic schools.
